Thanksgiving Night at Shore Acres

First I would like to thank the folks who showed up to host at Shore Acres Thanksgiving night.  Many thanks to The Bentley’s, The Kime’s and Pete Devereaux.  I know the Friends of Shore Acres really appreciate the Clubs participation.

A lot of people passed through the cottage.  The furthest was from Tainan, Taiwan ( they were exchange students in North Bend ).  Gallons of cider, punch and coffee were consumed along with hundreds of cookies.  Santa in the tub was a big hit with the kids.  The weather was lousy but we still had a large crowd and everyone seemed to enjoy the hospitality and the beautiful lights.  The turnout by the Club was a little disapointing, but I understand it is a family holiday and the weather was crummy.

We had a good group show up for the tree trimming at Shore Acres.  The O’Donnells, Jim & Carol Lee, Darrell & Eileen, The Kelly’s, The Kime’s, Ken & Joy Ware, The Rubin’s and Pete Devereaux all took part.  Thanks Linda Bentley for all the new decorations.  Lunch after was at Miller’s at the Cove.  Thanks everyone.

Devereaux Dinner 2011

What a good time.  Great food and good company.  Among the PCCC members that attended; Pete D, Ed & Pat, Jim & Carol Lee, Wayne & Jan, Dean & Dee, and Pete Paradies was a late show.  Dee cooked a great turkey and the King’s ham was excellent (they couldn’t attend due to a kidney stone).  3 of the clubs put on skits (funny stuff) and a good time was had by all.

Homecoming Weekend in Coos County

A couple weeks ago on a Friday Jack Granby and Pete Devereaux volunteered to play taxi for the Coquille Homecoming Princess’ and Princes.  The parade took us into little know corners of the town, in fact I bet we were lost several times.  But a good time was had by all.

Later the same Friday, 8 of our comrades got together at Ken Ware Chevrolet and went over to North Bend High School.  Once there we played taxi again and carried the inductees for their Hall of Fame around the track for introductions.  But we weren’t finished.  At halftime we were tagged to carry the North Bend Homecoming  Princes and Princess’ to the 50 yard line (on the track) as they were introduced.  Thanks to all.

Reedsport Chainsaw Corvette Show

A great day, a little wet but it is Oregon.  A gaggle of members met at Ken Ware, left at 8:30 (early) to take advantage of the Fireman’s Pancake Breakfast in Reedsport.  Once there we met up wth Wayne & Jan, Pete Paradies, Bill & Carol Clark, Jim & Carol Lee and Bill & Gail Collins.  It was nice to see Bill & Carol Clark out enjoying the day and the cars.  The Prez was showing off his NEW Grand Sport.  Dan & Janet Rubin went missing (Dan had to go pick up a gun).  Dan doesn’t know it’s easier (and safer) to buy votes for your car.  Most of us walked over to the Chainsaw Competion, some very talented carvers displaying beautiful sculptures.  Now let’s get to the winners of the Show & Shine, take a guess who won 1st.  Wayne won 1st place with his 62 beauty, 2nd went to Pete Paradies’ very nice 60, and 3rd was taken by Weston’s metallic pumpkin.  Once all was said and done some members stopped at The Country Club for lunch.  A good time was had by all.
